I don't make CDs any more, because the last thing we need in the world is more "stuff". All of my tunes are in the process of being listed here as free downloads under the Creative Commons 2.5 License. Listen to them, share them, give them away - it’s an experiment in music without borders. If you are interested in making commercial use of any of these tunes, then drop me an email. Songs that are not mine are covered under a normal copyright, and all rights are reserved by the publishers.

There are three different download formats available: MP3, WMA, and FLAC.

MP3- This is the most popular format for music download, and should play well on all operating systems and portable players. An MP3 is a digitally compressed music file, which means that it is smaller and easier to download, but the compression is accomplished by the loss of audio quality. The MP3s here have been encoded at a rate of 320 kbps to minimize that loss. If you have a dial-up connection, then you should select this format; the other files are far too large for that type of connection.

WMA- This is a true CD-quality format that will play well on Windows Media Player and iTunes on a Windows platform. Lossless audio files are compressed without the loss of data and quality inherent in the MP3 format. They are larger than MP3s, and take longer to download, but their sound is better.

FLAC- Free Lossless Audio Codec is another lossless compression algorithm. These files will play on multiple players and operating systems. Mac users should have no problem with these files, but if you want to play them on Windows Media Player, you will need a conversion application. I like FLAC because it is free software.
